Murilo Leite D'Imperio

Dancer: Under Foot, Le Cheval Solitaire

At the age of 16 Murilo was a founding member of Re*Flex Dance, a youth-led company based at Exeter Phoenix which performed original choreography across the South West. Murilo began his dance training in Bristol and graduated from Middlesex University in 2011. Later that year he worked with Earthfall on the revival of At Swim Two Boys, an intimate physical theatre duet set on a flooded stage. After backpacking for a year he returned to work with Earthfall and Coreo Cymru on Pal O' Me Heart; a dome film using 360 degree technology.
He has worked and performed for Julia Thorneycroft Dance since 2008 and is currently developing a series of Virtual Reality dance films to be shown in libraries and children's hospitals. Murilo has a passion for teaching and community practice, has led workshops independently and taught at colleges and universities. Boys dance has always been a main focus in his education work, after running the Plymouth leg of Matthew Bourne's | New Adventures Lord of the Flies, Murilo founded the all boys dance company Airborne in 2014 and Airborne (Girls) in 2016 with the support of Theatre Royal Plymouth.
